Räbeliechtli

A Lantern Parade Full of Tradition in Effretikon

In Switzerland, Räbeliechtli is a traditional autumn celebration that brightens the cold autumn nights.

During this celebration, children often carry lanterns made from turnips or pumpkins in a glowing parade that welcomes autumn. At Hands for Kids, the lanterns are made of paper, as the carving tools could be too dangerous for young children.
