Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about registration, childcare and fees – valid for both our Wallisellen and Effretikon locations.

1. How does registration work?

Registration for the daycare is completed once the childcare agreement has been signed and the deposit has been paid. The place is considered confirmed as soon as these steps have been completed. This applies to both our Wallisellen and Effretikon locations.

2. What happens if my child is ill?

Parents may not bring an unwell child (for example, with a high fever or a contagious illness) to the daycare. If a child becomes unwell during their time at the daycare, parents will be notified immediately and asked to collect their child.

3. How long does the settling-in period take?

The settling-in period lasts around 2 weeks. It begins with the child gradually spending more time at the daycare. The settling-in period is charged at a flat rate of CHF 300.

4. Which insurance policies are required?

Health insurance, as well as accident and liability insurance for the child, are the responsibility of the parents. The daycare is not liable for damage to, or loss of, personal belongings.

5. How far in advance do I need to inform you if my child is ill or on holiday?

Parents should let us know as early as possible if their child will be absent due to illness, holidays or any other reason.

6. How is the monthly fee paid?

The monthly fee is transferred to the daycare's account by the 28th of the preceding month, either by standing order, every six months (1.5% discount), or annually (3% discount). The monthly fee is payable in full even during holiday absences or illness.

7. What happens if I want to give notice on the place?

The place can be cancelled in writing with three months' notice. Notice must be given by registered letter, and the agreement ends at the end of the calendar month. If the notice period is not observed, the monthly fee will continue to be charged for the remaining duration of the notice period.

8. Is there a discount for siblings?

Yes, if more than one child from the same family attends the daycare, we offer a 10% sibling discount on the standard daily rate. The discount is applied to the lower amount and is only valid for as long as all siblings continue to attend the daycare.

9. What happens if I need additional childcare?

If parents would like additional childcare days on top of their regular schedule, this can be arranged by speaking with the daycare management. Additional childcare is charged separately.

10. Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, a deposit of CHF 1,000 must be paid for each child before their place is confirmed. This amount is refunded without interest when the childcare agreement ends, provided no alternative arrangement has been found for the child.
